What is the Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board? 
The Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board (BGWIB) plans, oversees, and evaluates workforce service delivery in a 17-county workforce area. A major role of the board is strategic planning to meet the employment and training needs of local businesses and industries. The wide variety of organizations represented on each board ensures input from experts throughout the community. Through oversight and evaluation, the board ensures that their strategic and operational plans are implemented.

The 17-county Bluegrass Area is made up of Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford counties.
